For more than 30 years, CUPUM (Computers in Urban Planning and Urban Management) has been one of the premier international academic conferences for the exchange of ideas and applications of computer technologies to address a range of different social and environmental problems.

The CUPUM conference, first held in 1989 in Hong Kong, has been held in many great cities around the world including Oxford (1991), Atlanta (1993), Melbourne (1995), Mumbai (1997), Venice (1999), Honolulu (2001), Sendai (2003), London (2005), Iguassu Falls (2007), Hong Kong (2009), Calgary-Banff (2011), Utrecht (2013), Boston (2015), Adelaide (2017) and Wuhan (2019) .

The next CUPUM conference will be held in Helsinki, Finland (2021).
